Chocolate Cake in Jashore — Truffle, Fudge and Plain

A plain chocolate sponge is cocoa in the batter with chocolate buttercream on top. It is light, not very sweet, and the version children usually prefer. It also carries decoration well, so most birthday cakes with a name or a cartoon on top start from this base.

A chocolate truffle cake replaces the buttercream with ganache — chocolate melted into cream and poured over so it sets to a smooth, glossy shell. It is denser, noticeably richer, and the one adults tend to choose. A chocolate fudge sits between the two: a sponge soaked in chocolate syrup with a thick fudge layer through the middle, so it eats moist rather than glossy.

For a child's birthday, take the plain sponge. It is lighter, children eat more of it, and it is the base that holds a piped name, an age number or a cartoon theme cleanly. Ganache is a poor surface to decorate on top of, so a truffle cake usually stays plain and glossy.

For an anniversary, an office gathering or anything where the guests are mostly adults, the truffle is the better cake — a small slice satisfies, so a one-pound stretches further than it looks. In Jashore's summer months keep in mind that ganache softens in heat; if the cake has to sit out on a table for hours, the fudge holds its shape better than a poured ganache does.

Chocolate is priced the same as every other flavour here — by weight, with no premium for being chocolate. A half-pound at ৳250 suits a small household celebration, and a one-pound at ৳450 is what most families order. Truffle and fudge cost the same as the plain sponge.

Writing, an age number, colours and a cartoon theme are all included at no extra charge. Only photo prints and tiered builds are quoted separately, because they need different materials and a lot more time.

A day's notice is enough for a chocolate cake, two if there is a theme design on it. Everything is baked after the order is confirmed, so the cake going to your door was made that day, not taken off a counter.
